In the world of golf, Rory McIlroy is the best, generating nearing $200 million last year! So what a better way to celebrate your status than buying a home in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Well for McIlroy, how about buying a $10.9 million mansion with six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a world-class gym, a private deep water dock, and yes, a putting green.
What you didn’t know is that Rory has been renting a home for the past several years near the Loxahatchee River here in Florida. Rory put his home for sale in Northern Ireland for $3.24 million last September. With the new home all lined up, Rory can relax as the friendly neighbor of golf legend Tiger Woods, who will be living right down the street.
According to Yahoo Sports:
“Rory McIlroy, the world’s No. 1 golfer and biggest earner on the PGA Tour this year, has signed a contract to buy one of Palm Beach County’s greatest houses. Several real estate sources tell me McIlroy, who won the PGA Player of the Year award this week, came close to the $10.9 million-asking price for 2380 Old Gate Lane. The Intracoastal-side property is in the swank Old Gate enclave of Pam Beach Gardens.”
